Great run out Ladies some real positives to take from the game in preparation for the league. Great to see our new signings fitting in well and making some telling contributions. With a big strong squad and a number of duplicates names we have had to start to give the girls nicknames so we can communicate quickly and purposefully

Hannah was strong and confident at the back and rewarded with a superb goal.
Jessica “Stitch” was a handful in the midfield and played some great combination play exploiting the space down the wing.
Amber Southern ‘Yet to decide the nickname ?) combined well and played some great crosses. Chloe worked hard to try and link with her strike partner.

Ruby was her usual handful for the opposition showing great movement to go and get the ball and start the attack. Olivia's return after a long spell of absence was rewarded with a brace - the second a great chip from outside the box. Suzy Shanks was reward with a goal after a great run and determination to get to the far post and across her opposition player to meet the cross.
Lois was confident and assured in the middle playing some great football, linking play and disrupting the opposition attacks.

Captain Jess was strong and physical, commanding her back line well and ensuring the girls moved as a defensive unit to thwart the attack. Amber Mayers was alert to the threat clearing her lines with real purpose and showing a great array of passing from out the back. Jess ‘Hall-ee’ was assured and plaid out with confidence. Rosie was a real strength playing both in the middle and when dropping to fill for Hannah at the back. Some great support play from Rosie combining well with ‘Stitch’ and Amber Southern to help progress play forward.

Bethany showed great confidence with her starting position following play and restricting the space between the back line.

What we did when we played well:
1. Looked to take a quick touch to control before progressing the ball forward/sideways to retain possession
2. Were prepared to make the runs off the ball to offer options and/or support
3. Showed confidence to retain possession by running with the ball when space in front to do so.

What we need to do to improve:
1. Ensure that we work together to pressure the ball with urgency, denying and delaying the opposition opportunity to play.
2. Stay balanced jockeying play - don't dive in or turn our back.
3. make deliberate movements off the ball (two movements - in and out, forward and back etc) to create space from dead-ball situations e.g. throw ins, corners etc
