As well as being CEO of Newcastle Airport Davie was a qualified football referee officiating both locally and at the top level. He was a great supporter of grass roots football recognising and appreciating the endless hours volunteers devote to running local clubs and teams.

His son Patrick played for our junior teams and is now following in his dad's footsteps refereeing in the local leagues.
