Ponteland United Football Club are extremely grateful of a generous 'Community Chest' grant we have received from Northumberland County Council and the support of Local Councillors.
Maintaining green spaces and playing fields costs the football club in excess of £45,000 per year for grass cutting alone, which is funded solely from contributions of members.
The Community Chest grant offers exciting opportunities for the future as the football club looks to take a more active role in maintaining and developing our football pitches in the Ponteland area and continue to offer high quality green spaces for our community to access.
Ponteland United Football Club has been funding the upkeep and maintenance of the playing fields and open green spaces which formed part of the former Ponteland High School Playing Fields since the demolition of the school.
The football club is keen to ensure that we make best use of the funding provided and are kindly asking for advice and assistance from our local farmland owners or equipment providers who may be able to assist. The football club would appreciate guidance in the purchase of new or used equipment to help our volunteers develop our ground maintenance and green spaces practice and the necessary equipment to develop and enhance these valued green spaces.
